Golden Globes 2014 – The red carpet extravaganza!!!

This years awards season started and it’s buzzing. It all kicked off with the Golden Globes that had some great winners, a great host, the always HIGH-larious Tina Fey and the best bit, some hot and some not so hot fashion choices made by the heavy names that walked down the red carpet.

I admit that I only watch the show for the feast of fashion and I’m ready to “read” those bitches up and down to give my very honest opinion on everything!

I have selected my favourite ones, them being hot or a hot mess.

01 – Julia Roberts: Nominated for “August: Osage County” appeared wearing this Dolce & Gabanna number that it was very simple and boring. Julia is Hollywood royalty and normally brings it on the red carpet but this one besides being a tad bit masculine, is a “going to the office” look. The make-up on the other hand looked hot.

02 – Uma Thurman: My girlfriend Uma it is a tall and vibrant Diva who looks elegant and stylish with this classic Versace look. She owned it and screamed power. The jewellery was elegant but yet simple.

03 – Sofia Vergara: Normally she goes for the typical tacky over the top latin soap star look but this time she kind of got it right with a dress by Zac Posen. A dark and heavy dress straight out of the runway. It wasn’t flattering for her body but it was better than her normal choices.

04 – Sandra Bullock: The star has tried different looks recently and so far I’m loving it. Her styling has improved and she’s been showing us divine make-up and hair. This Paral Gurung dress was cute but a bit awkward. It needed a bit of ironing.

05 – Reese Witherspoon: Opted for a discreet and quiet Calvin Klein. The colour was vibrant and beautiful, almost matching with her eyes.

06 – Jennifer Lawrence: Love her, crazy about her but this dress was dreadful. Not a good choice. It worked on the Christian Dior runway but not on J-Law.

07 – Kaley Cuoco: My beloved “Penny” choose this floral dress that was so boring and it looked old. Her hair and make-up looked fierce though.

08 – Cate Blanchett: One of the nights winner was pure sophistication with that Armani number that is beyond glamorous. All worked on lace, the dress looks fragile but very powerful and elegant. She is a true Diva.

09 – Amy Adams: Another winner of the night Amy looked stunning and had an old Hollywood glam look on that Valentino Haute Couture dress that screamed opulence in its simplicity.

10 – Hellen Mirren: This English power name looked perfect. The Jenny Packham dress had a lovely green tone and it hugged the Diva’s body in the right places. I loved the hair styling. She showed that is not because she’s a mature woman that she can’t take risks.

11 – Drew Barrymore: She choose a Monique Lhuillier floral dress that had a spring feeling to it with a lot of delicate flowers all over it. A delicious mixture of red, pink and white. It hide very well that she is heavily pregnant. A very Drew look.

12 – Mila Kunis: I love Mila, I think she’s stunning and knows how to rock even a bin bag and she wore that Emilio Pucci dress like no one else could. The metallic dress was hot and the details on it were sexy and fierce.

13 – Kerry Washington: The pregnant and darling Kerry looked radiant but the look was boring. It looked washed out and she looked like she was going to church or a wedding. The Balenciaga chosen was a mistake. She could have done much better.

14 – Melissa McCarthy: She’s more than funny and I love her character on tv show “Mike & Molly” but what she has on comedy talent she lacks on fashion sense. What was that dress? It looked like an expensive chocolate wrap and I’ve never seen a black number make someone look even bigger.

15 – Mayim Bialik: The eternal Blossom never gets it right. Even though her make-up and hair looked good, the dress was slightly off and boring. It looked rather young for her. Maybe if it didn’t have the fishnet long sleeves it could have worked. It looked cheap and heavy.

16 – Tina Fey: The hostess of the night looked elegant on the Carolina Herrera floral dress. It looked expensive and glam. Vibrant colours and rich fabric made that dress work for Tina even though she looked a bit big on the waist line.

So, those were my highlights of the evening and I cannot wait to see what’s next on the next awards show.

Some good and some bad, the Golden Globes 2014 were a great start and I loved “reading” the ladies.

A lot of fierceness along with some major fashion crimes.

That’s what make fun to watch those shows.

Bring it on and let’s see who’s going to WEEEERK on the next award ceremony.

But for the 2014 Golden Globes Awards I give…
