Madonna releases new manifesto in celebration of Women’s International Day – WATCH HERE!!!

The Queen of Pop, Madonna continues to promote/push/preach her “revolution of love” with a new video manifesto she’s released on Wednesday to celebrate this year’s Women’s International Day called “Her-Story” and as usual the message gets delivered with a “IN YOUR FACE” vibe to it. Still, the video serves feminism realness and art realness from beginning to end.

Madonna first gave us a taste of her new project with a few photos she posted on social media and since then we knew that something big was about to pop, one of the photos captions : “EVERY WOMAN HAS A STORY! DON’T BE AFRAID TO USE YOUR VOICE! TO HELP OTHERS! CELEBRATE WOMEN AROUND THE WORLD!”.

Like anything Madonna, “Her-Story” is filled with fearless and fierce imagery, like the Nazi influenced look, the angel wings or the vicious dogs, to name a few. After all, she’s the unapologetic bitch!!!

The 12:48 minute short film created in partnership with Vogue Germany and Italian artsy and fashionable duo Luigi & Iango, who directed the black and white film that is dedicated, “TO ALL WOMEN WHO FIGHT FOR FREEDOM”, declared Madonna.

The film features extracts from Madonna’s speech that shocked the world back in January during the Women’s March that took place in Washington. You remember that right???

Madonna opens the film: “WELCOME TO THE REVOLUTION OF LOVE, TO OUR REFUSAL AS WOMEN TO ACCEPT THIS NEW AGE OF TYRANNY, WHERE NOT JUST WOMEN ARE IN DANGER, BUT ALL MARGINALISED PEOPLE, WHERE BEING UNIQUELY DIFFERENT MIGHT TRULY BE CONSIDERED A CRIME. THE REVOLUTION STARTS HERE”.

Always a bit preachy if I’m honest…

I have to be honest and say that at a times all of that felt over the top and obvious that it was all done for shock value and in my opinion, Madonna should have dropped the “I WANT TO SHOCK THE WORLD” thing a long time ago, maybe like around the “American Life” phase???

The message it is important and relevant at the moment but like I’ve said it before, the way Madonna delivers the message is aggressive and too harsh in my opinion. She should study less Hitler and more Queen Elizabeth.

Regardless all that, “Her-Story” is a glossy, fierce, empowering, artsy and stunning short film and I hope that its intended message reaches a wider audience and makes a change in the world.
